Barbara Starkey
A native of Maine, Barbara Starkey
has spent
many years in New Mexico developing her artistic skills. Ms.
Starkey
paints subjects, then uses layers of glazes made from a recipe
originated
by the European masters (Maroger methods) to enhance translucency in
shaded
areas. This adds to the illusion of depth in her portrayal of
various
scenes, and the values she utilizes in these areas are both subtle and
unique.
